Dr. Daniel Bright is a Title I School that focuses resources on reading instruction. All students receive ninety minutes of reading instruction from a scientifically based basil reading program.  We also provide the following to help serve student needs.

Supplemental Reading Instruction -
All kindergarten, first, and second grade students will be benchmark tested using the DIBELS assessment, in the fall, winter and spring.  Assessment results will determine necessary intervention or enrichment strategies.  Throughout the year, students will receive thirty-five minutes of supplemental direct reading instruction in small groups at their individual level.  All intervention classes use scientifically based curriculum.

Progress Monitoring
Teachers will be provided additional time to reassess all “at risk” students.  Teachers will meet with administration and Title I to identify students who are most at risk.  Those students will be progress monitored on a regular basis throughout the school year.  Teachers will meet to discuss student progress and collaborate for intervention strategies.
